Clearjel is a unique, very useful product. It is a thickener used in pies, puddings, gravies, and more. Unlike most starches, it thickens into a clear jelly, not milky, so that the color and appearance of the fruit shows through. Gravies are a richer, clearer color. It is resistant to separating and thinning in freezing.
Use Instant Clearjel in:
- Pies
- Puddings
- Gravies
- Sauces
Use as you would cornstarch. While regular Clearjel requires cooking to thicken as does cornstarch, Instant Clearjel thickens without cooking. Instant Clearjel should be added after cooking rather than before.
