It can be both. And you can serve it a hundred ways--above is a cake waffle with marshmallow cream. Then there's this with chocolate frosting and sprinkles. It looks like a birthday to me.
But there's a secret. It's not a fluffy off-the-shelf cake mix. It's a cream cake, with more substance and less air--a "pudding-in-the-mix" cake.
