Ham gravy doesn't work. It's greasy and salty and just doesn't taste good! So what's the answer to a holiday dinner?
Here are six alternatives:
Country gravy. That's the gravy they serve over country-fried steak in the diners. It makes perfect mashed potatoes and gravy, and only takes a few minutes to prepare.

Cranberry gravy. This is a country gravy hack. It's country gravy flavored and tinted with cranberry sauce. It works on ham as well as potatoes.
Cheesy potatoes. This is our traditional potato casserole for Easter dinner. Here are three choices.

Oven-baked fries. These are quick, easy, and good. It only takes a few minutes to make country gravy to pour over them.
Sweet potato fries. I like them even better than oven-baked fries. Try pouring that cranberry gravy over them. Sweet potatoes with cranberry gravy is a terrific combination.
Twice-baked potatoes. Get creative. Add cheese, chives, bacon, and whatever. They are straightforward and delightful.
