Greasy Ham Gravy Ruining Holiday Dinner? Try this Cranberry Country Gravy

Dennis Weaver Dennis Weaver

Ham drippings make gravy taste like a salt lick--greasy, heavy, and . . . wrong. We fixed that. We used our Country Gravy Mix--no junk, no fake flavors--just creamy, authentic goodness--like you would find at your favorite country diner.

It's quick and simple to make. Now you can have down-home potatoes and gravy with your ham with little fuss.

Use our country gravy; it's the perfect solution. It's quick and easy and tastes great.

If you want a holiday twist, use our cranberry country gravy. It's made with our just-add-water country gravy mix with whole cranberry sauce added.

Here's the recipe:

  • 2 cups country gravy made  with water or milk, your choice
  • 1/2 cup cranberry sauce (whole berry, not jelly--gives it a tart pop)
  • 1 tablespoon orange juice--cuts the salt and brightens the flavor

Make the gravy per package instructions. If the gravy is too thick, thin it with water.

Add the cranberries and butter and simmer for a few minutes. Simmer it for one minute while stirring.

Refrigerate leftovers.
