These are very, very good blondie bar cookies! Butterscotch is often overlooked but don't overlook these. These are like brownies without the chocolate.  They're moist and chewy, accented by the pecans.

The butterscotch brownies are very good, however, I would have preferred them without the additional butterscotch chips. They made them a little too “butterscotchy” for my taste. I still gave them 5
stars, though.

It's hard to understand why it was necessary to put artificial coloring in this mix. I'm especially troubled by the Blue, in addition to two shades of Yellow. When I make Blondies from scratch at home, I never add Blue coloring and they look fine.
