White Chocolate Huckleberry Swirl Cheesecake

We have made our white chocolate cheesecake many times. It’s our most popular cheesecake. This time we put huckleberry flavor and color in one-third of the batter and swirled the two together. You could do the same with other flavors: raspberry, strawberry, blueberry, and more. A perfect marriage of flavors! The richness of the white chocolate complements the sweet and tart huckleberry flavor to make a truly scrumptious cheesecake. So versatile! As mentioned above, you can use your favorite flavors for the swirls, whether it’s raspberry, blueberry, strawberry, or even pineapple.  Shopping Tips for Your White Chocolate Huckleberry Cheesecake Use good …

Beyond the Bone Store

Quiet Country Drives The Bone Store sits in Bone, Idaho, 17 miles down the Bone Road.  (Yes, there was a Mr. Bone, Mr. Orion Bone the town founder in the early 1900’s.) Bone is in the boonies. It was the last town in Idaho to receive telephone service.  In 2006, it had a year around population of 2.  It has probably doubled in population since then. I hear the Bone Store serves dinner weekend evenings. We had never been to Gray’s Lake.  There is a national wildlife refuge there and it’s not too far from where we live so we …

About White Chocolate Frosting

For one of our favorite cheesecakes, we melt white chocolate wafers and drizzle it into our batter.  It makes the cheesecake smooth and rich. We wanted a white chocolate frosting to drizzle over a coffeecake and started to experiment.  We found that the ratio of chocolate to powdered sugar was critical.  When there was too much chocolate for the powdered sugar, it was not smooth but lumpy.  With twice as much sugar as chocolate, it was smooth.  We added a tablespoon or two of butter and thinned the frosting to drizzling consistency with water or milk. We wanted to flavor …
