But what’s a buckeye? For those of us who do not live in Ohio, a buckeye is a type of tree that produces a round little fruit with nut-like seeds. But a buckeye candy is a dollop of peanut butter fudge dipped in chocolate with a bit of peanut butter peering out. Dipping goodies in chocolate is an easy way to make treats that are perfect for the chocolate lover. You can dip anything from pretzels to strawberries.
