Insert one of these heavy gauge aluminum nails into each potato before baking and you'll cut the baking time in half! If you bake your potatoes in foil, insert the nails right through the foil. The heavy gauge aluminum conducts heat evenly through potatoes to reduce cooking time.

We used something similar to speed the baking when I was growing up. They work really well, but ours had a loop (the head of the nail was bent into a triangular shape) to make removal of the hot nails easier. The straight design of these is the only drawback.
