Sorry, you were disappointed, Carol. But let me explain. I went to someone in the industry to make sure that I understood chocolate chips. They come in two types, pure and compound. Most are compound. Compound are made with a combination of cocoa butter and another fat, typically palm kernel, coconut oil, or dairy. These are compound chips; the cocoa butter is in the cocoa. (Most US producers would list the cocoa butter separately.) So these are typical of compound chips. I wish they were pure chocolate chips . . . but they would cost much more.--Dennis Weaver . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .. . . . . . . . . . . . . Disappointed that these are actually made with hydrogenated palm kernel oil and not cocoa butter. The main difference between these and the green mint chips is that they're chocolatey and not just minty. So yeah disappointed but my fault for not looking at the label info first.

These are the best mint chips EVER! Better than store bought. For any serious baker these are a must have. I made mint chip cookies yesterday, adn they were a hit. In fact these are so good I am buying several more bags.
