Huckleberries grow in the high mountain country of Idaho and Montana. The Big Horn Mountains of eastern Idaho are laced with roads. If you follow the backcountry roads, get high enough, and then climb toward a ridge, you'll find huckleberries. (No wonder they are so expensive!) In Idaho and Montana, huckleberries are highly prized and used to make syrup and jam and put in ice cream, muffins, pancakes, and more.

These cookies are made with little flecks of real fruit puree, specially made berry bits. We think you'll like the huckleberry flavor. The flecks of berries make these cookies interesting and distinctive. These are great cookies! Even if you are not a sugar cookie lover, you'll love these.

A huckleberry flavored frosting packet is enclosed. You add only water to make the frosting.

Because huckleberries have a unique flavor, I wasn't sure how this flavor would be in a cookie mix. They are tasty! Both my husband and I spent our childhoods picking and eating these berries, keeping one step ahead of the bears. He agrees that these cookies taste great.
