New York Rye is a medium light rye that is full flavored and with body. Add the optional caraway seeds for a true New York flavor. Look for a distinctive split top--even from your bread machine.
San Francisco Sourdough is reminiscent of gold rush days of old California. This tangy bread is light colored and crusty with a signature split top.

This package contains four mixes.
Two caraway seed packets are enclosed. Add caraway seeds to your Black Russian bread to make a classic pumpernickel bread or to your New York Rye bread. Leave the caraway seeds out of these two breads for a milder flavor
SAF yeast packets are enclosed. You provide only water.
Directions for perfect bread are included.
These bread mixes are designed for your bread machine or mixer. They can be made in the oven. The San Francisco Sourdough is a slow rising and additional time is required to make this bread outside of the bread machine.

If you make this bread in your bread machine, water temperature is critical. Please use a thermometer to measure water at exactly 80 degrees. A ten degree difference in water temperature can double the growth rate of the yeast. These bread mixes are satisfaction guaranteed when you use a thermometer.
