Baker's notes: Angel food cakes must be inverted while they cool. On this angel food cake pan, the center tube extends well above the pan. It is designed so that you can invert the pan and center tube will act as a stand to hold up the cake--no need to invert the pan over a long-necked bottle.

This is a well-designed tube pan. Though the bottom comes out to remove the cake, the fit is nicely tight. We don't think you'll have trouble with batter leaking out of the bottom of the pan, even with very thin batters.
