This is an authentic New York Dill Rye Bread.
It's a crusty, chewy rye bread with lots of rye flavor, with a sourdough-like sharpness, and just enough dill. It's our new favorite sandwich bread but it's also irresistible freshly baked, warm and spread with melting butter. It's also great as a chewy, crunchy toast. It is amazing that you can make bread like this from your bread machine.
- This package contains two mixes. Each mix makes a large loaf.
- SAF yeast packets are enclosed. You provide only water.
- Directions and tips for perfect bread are included. You can make this bread in your bread machine, by hand, or with a stand-type mixer.
Melissa is our New York baker and she knows rye bread. This mix is based on her favorite dill rye bread. It is authentic and it is very good.

If you make this bread in your bread machine, water temperature is critical. Please use a thermometer to measure water at exactly 80 degrees. A ten degree difference in water temperature can double the growth rate of the yeast. These bread mixes are satisfaction guaranteed when you use a thermometer.
Ingredients: Enriched wheat flour (wheat flour, malted barley flour, niacin, iron, thiamin mononitrate, riboflavin, and folic acid), white rye flour, rye bread base (rye flour, salt, wheat flour, spices, sugar, acetic acid, lactic acid--contains 2% or less natural flavor), sugar, dehydrated onion, dill seed, and yeast.
