Brownie
Pudding Cake Sundae
This
scrumptious dessert makes a party of any occasion. Think “hot
fudge sundae” plus a little peanut butter in the cake. Serve this
pudding cake topped with vanilla ice cream, chopped nuts, and a cherry
and you have a gala dessert that kids of all ages will love. Consider
this for your child’s next party.
Ingredients
Sauce
4 tablespoons butter
1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 1/4 cup milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Cake
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1/4 cup granulated sugar
3 tablespoons cocoa
3/4 teaspoon baking powder
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
1/2 cup milk
1/4 cup peanut butter
Directions
Preheat the oven
to 350 degrees
1. In a saucepan,
melt the butter and chocolate chips together. Add the sugar and milk
and heat until it just starts to bubble, stirring frequently. Remove
from the heat and add the vanilla.
2. In a medium bowl, mix the flour, sugar, cocoa, and baking powder
together. Add the oil, milk, and peanut butter and mix until combined.
Scrape the batter into an ungreased 8 x 8-inch baking pan.
3. Pour the hot sauce mixture over the batter. Place the pan in the
oven and bake fro 35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the cake
comes out clean. Cool in the pan on a rack.
Serving
suggestion
This is a favorite
of kids and chocolate lovers. Serve it hot with a scoop of vanilla ice
cream. Either drizzle chocolate over the ice cream or pudding sauce
from the cake. Top with chopped peanuts and a cherry.
