This scrumptious dessert makes a party of any occasion. Think “hot fudge sundae” plus a little peanut butter in the cake. Serve this pudding cake topped with vanilla ice cream, chopped nuts, and a cherry and you have a gala dessert that kids of all ages will love. Consider this for your child’s next party.

Ingredients

Sauce
4 tablespoons butter
1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 1/4 cup milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Cake
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1/4 cup granulated sugar
3 tablespoons cocoa
3/4 teaspoon baking powder
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
1/2 cup milk
1/4 cup peanut butter

Directions

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees

1. In a saucepan, melt the butter and chocolate chips together. Add the sugar and milk and heat until it just starts to bubble, stirring frequently. Remove from the heat and add the vanilla.
2. In a medium bowl, mix the flour, sugar, cocoa, and baking powder together. Add the oil, milk, and peanut butter and mix until combined. Scrape the batter into an ungreased 8 x 8-inch baking pan.
3. Pour the hot sauce mixture over the batter. Place the pan in the oven and bake fro 35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the cake comes out clean. Cool in the pan on a rack.

Serving suggestion

This is a favorite of kids and chocolate lovers. Serve it hot with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Either drizzle chocolate over the ice cream or pudding sauce from the cake. Top with chopped peanuts and a cherry.
