These chocolate chocolate chip pancakes are very good, better than the chocolate pancakes in the pancake houses. They are made with the best chocolate and chocolate chips with just a hint of cinnamon.

Mayan Chocolate Chip Pancakes! These are wonderful chocolate pancakes.

Both Carrie, our production manager, and Neil, our database manager, insisted that the chocolate pancakes served in the national pancake house in Idaho Falls were very good. We were a bit skeptical. Chocolate pancakes seemed like an indulgence. Finally we relented and tried them. They were surprisingly good.

We went to work in our test kitchen making batch after batch. Finally, we had just what we wanted--rich chocolatey pancakes that a touch of cinnamon and just-right sweetness.

Both Carrie and Neil proclaimed them better than at the national chain.

Mayan Chocolate Chip Pancakes are made with dark chocolate with just a hint of cinnamon. They are a bit richer and with more chocolate than at the pancake house. We served these with maple syrup, coconut cream syrup, and raspberry syrup. They are not overly sweet and the syrup makes them perfect.

Ingredients: Enriched wheat flour (wheat flour, malted barley flour, niacin, iron, thiamin mononitrate, riboflavin, and folic acid), Dark chocolate chips, Cocoa Powder, Sugar, buttermilk (dry cultured skim milk), baking powder, baking soda, Cinnamon, Vanilla Flavor, and salt. This mix contains wheat and dairy products and may contain traces of soy, eggs, tree nuts or peanuts.

Light as a Feather

When I say, “Light as a Feather,” I’m not kidding. These pancakes are not only delicious, they are light. With the batter I thought they would be a bit heavy, but was I ever wrong! I would say this is more of a desert than a breakfast pancake, but none the less very good. I got creative with it, after putting it on the plate. I put fresh picked blackberries (mixed with a little sugar), on top of the pancake and then added some whip cream on top of that. My five year old nephew will attest to how great they taste, as will I. DELICIOUS!
