Frankly, we didn't think this would work. We love sweet monkey bread--our cinnamon, butterscotch, and caramel nut monkey bread. But a savory monkey bread? We had a hard time getting our heads around that. Debbie in the test kitchen made it anyway. We absolutely loved the very first one. She served it with a marinara sauce. It was rich and garlicky, thinly crisp on the outside and feathery soft on the inside. Hot out of the oven made it wonderful.

Made this to take to our family's annual chili party, and it was a big hit! Delicious! Well worth the time required for rising and baking :)
