How to Turn Your Fruit into a Dessert
Fruit is sweet and refreshing, a dessert in it’s own right. A mixture of fruit can be colorful and alluring. When that mixture is topped upon a cake or a shortcake, maybe with a dollop or whipped cream, then the dessert is regal.
Strawberry shortcakes or strawberries and cream on angle food cake may be the classics but you can do the same thing with nearly any fruit. Shortcakes made with peaches, mangos, cantaloupe, blueberries, and raspberries are all worthy of consideration. Nor do you need be limited to standard shortcakes. Pound cakes, coffee cakes, and even chocolate cakes make great desserts. You can even top a muffin with fruit.
